The Palmer Pizzelle Maker looks just like the one my Italian great-aunt used to make pizzelle in her basement kitchen when I was little. Seeing as the company has been making Italian cookie irons since 1946, it probably was the same brand of iron. This one’s good for people who want a typical-sized pizzelle and a cooking plate that doesn’t have a nonstick coating.
It may not have all of the fancy features of the newer model pizzelle makers, but that also means that there are fewer fancy features to suddenly break or just stop working on the iron. I’m currently saving up some money to invest in one of these.

Reviewers found for the Palmer Pizzelle Maker adored it for its simplicity and effectiveness. As long as you follow the enclosed directions, the cookies will not stick to the iron despite the lack of a Teflon surface.
And the manufacturer provided great customer service. One reviewer who has had an iron for 30 years contacted Palmer for a replacement part and received excellent service even though his iron was not brand-new. There was another reviewer who had a terrible experience with the seller, but this was the only review I found like this, and it looks like the exception rather than the norm.
If you a no-frills pizzelle maker, don’t trust the newer ones that have been coming out lately, or you want pizzelle just the way your grandma (or great-aunt) used to make, then look at the Palmer Pizzelle Maker, a classic that’s been around for many years.
